Reduce Outdoor Watering This Fall
Autumn is here, which means cooler weather and less outdoor watering is needed! Your plants don’t need as much water this time of year, and overwatering may lead to fungal disease and pest issues. Turn your controllers OFF and use manually as needed based on weekly recommendations from WaterMyYard.org. Check out this AgriLife publication to learn more about lawn care during the fall and winter.

Krum Students Tour Taylor Plant
Upper Trinity recently welcomed a group of students from Krum High School to learn how water is treated from raw lake water to drinking water at our Taylor Water Treatment Plant in Lewisville. Students also learned about streamflow and erosion during a demonstration of our new stream erosion trailer, and ways they can protect water quality in their daily activities. Learn more about our educational resources!

Medicine Takeback Day
Don’t flush unwanted medicines down the toilet or throw in the trash! Medicines can pollute nearby water sources and harm fish and other aquatic life. Properly dispose of these items at a drop-off location near you on Takeback Day on October 26 or anytime at your police department or local pharmacies. Learn more at the Defend Your Drains website.

Taylor Water Treatment Plant Expansion Has Begun
The Taylor Plant in Lewisville can currently produce up to 70 million gallons of drinking water each day (MGD). To continue providing high-quality service to our growing communities, Upper Trinity recently began expansion of the Taylor Plant to 85 MGD. Construction is expected to take 3 to 4 years with additional filters built and upgrades to existing sedimentation basins and ozone disinfection processes. Check out the treatment process at the Taylor Plant on our website!
