Strengthening Water Treatment
To stay ahead of North Texas’ rapid growth, UTRWD is expanding both of its water treatment plants: the Thomas E. Taylor Water Treatment Plant in Lewisville and the Tom Harpool Water Treatment Plant in Providence Village.

Construction of Southwest Pump Station
|
|
|
Construction of a new pump station to enhance drinking water delivery and pumping capacity in the southwestern portion of its service area, is well underway. Construction includes two ground storage tanks that can store up to 10 million gallons of treated water and pump up to 25 million gallons per day to residents and business.

Doe Branch Water Reclamation Plant
The Doe Branch Plant in Little Elm is one of UTRWD’s four Water Reclamation Plants, located along US Hwy 380 near FM 1385, and provides services to the City of Celina, Town of Prosper, Mustang Special Utility District and Elm Ridge Water Control Improvement District.

Phase 3 Treatment Expansion
Construction is underway for the next phase of expansion for the Doe Branch Plant. The expansion will increase treatment capacity from 4 MGD to 12 MGD. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2028.

Parallel Interceptor Pipeline
A parallel wastewater interceptor is being constructed to receive the increased amount of wastewater being sent to the Doe Branch Plant for treatment. Construction is expected to be completed at the same time as the plant expansion.
