UTRWD Provides an Update on Operations, Conservation and Watershed Protection Activities.
Operations Continue through Winter Storm
Operators and maintenance personnel faithfully maintained our water and water reclamation systems without pause during the recent winter storm. Although some aspects of daily life may have been interrupted, North Texans could still rely on their water needs being met while stuck at home. Thank you, operations and maintenance teams!

Keep Sprinklers OFF Until Spring!
North Texas weather can be unpredictable this time of year, but rest assured your grass is continuing its healthy dormancy until the seasons officially change. So help save water for the real hot months ahead!

Do You Love Your Watershed?
Show your watershed some love year-round by choosing organic fertilizers, compost, and mulch; properly disposing of household hazardous waste such as cleaning products, paints, and unwanted medicines; and always picking up after pets. Small actions at home (like picking up litter) add up to cleaner water for everyone.

Students Learn about Protecting Our Water
Last week, over 500 7th graders at Argyle Middle School learned about watersheds, stream erosion, and how everyday pollutants affect creeks and lakes, and other important water sources. Denton County teachers and science coordinators are encouraged to schedule FREE watershed demonstrations featuring the UTRWD stream trailer and interactive watershed board!
